I really like this view of what a marriage can be about, the thing is, marriage isn't just about one thing or one relationship. It's about
many things and many relationships. Relationships with each other, family, friends, children, and pets etc etc etc. This particular quote is reminding us of some of the simple beauties of marriage, like just having someone around to notice you, to witness your ups and your downs with you. Don't take for granted the little perks of being in a loving, healthy, relationship, they're hard to come around.

Quote of the Day
Writing ought either to be the manufacture of stories for which there is a market demand—a business as safe and commendable as making soap or breakfast foods—or it should be an art, which is always a search for something for which there is no market demand, something new and untried, where the values are intrinsic and have nothing to do with standardized values.
Willa Cather
(1873-1947)
