"I cry a lot. My emotions are very close to my surface. I don't want to hold anything in so it festers and turns into pus - a pustule of emotion that explodes into a festering cesspool of depression." -Nicolas Cage
I like this quote a lot. Its a strange but accurate way of explaining an emotion. I think this is something we should all think about. Is it the best idea to hold an emotion in just to avoid a confrontation? Or should we just pick our battles wisely? Keep it in sometimes, let it out others.
Talking about our emotions and problems that we have with each other helps us to learn about each other. That's not to say we should start a fight every time your feelings get hurt. Choose your words wisely and watch your tone. Don't attack someone about something expecting positive results. Have a calm conversation, skip the bullshit, and tell exactly what it is that is bothering you. There's a way to get your point across and problem solved without a yelling and cussing match.
Remember always positive thoughts = positive emotions

Quote of the Day
Writing ought either to be the manufacture of stories for which there is a market demand—a business as safe and commendable as making soap or breakfast foods—or it should be an art, which is always a search for something for which there is no market demand, something new and untried, where the values are intrinsic and have nothing to do with standardized values.
Willa Cather (1873-1947) |
