"What we see depends mainly on what we look for." -John Lubbock
I think this quote is extremely accurate in what it is trying to say. To me, this quote means you see what you want to see, not necessarily what's reality. I believe this is one of our biggest problems as human beings. We're afraid our emotions and that can cause some really skewed views of things in certain situations. Like if your friend has a drug problem, you don't want to have to deal with intervening and causing a lot of drama so it may cause you to completely overlook something that's right in front of you. Or if your husband is cheating on you but you don't want to divorce because you don't want to get hurt and be alone, you can just completely overlook all the signs.
Just because you don't want something to happen, isn't going to keep it from happening. Deal with your fears head on and quit procrastinating, you are only making things worse in the long run. Stand up for yourself or for someone else when its needed! Emotions are normal, natural parts of life, its ok to be sad, mad, glad, bad, etc regardless of what anyone else says.
Remember! Positive thoughts = positive emotions
