To "live" means...

"To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all." -Oscar Wilde

We always see quotes that are urging us to "live life to the fullest" and "live in the moment" but what do these quotes really mean? What are they really telling us to do? Ever thought about it?

What I interpret these quotes to mean is that we should live in the NOW, in the present. Now your probably saying, well how am I not living in the present? I shall explain further.. our minds are continuously thinking, of memories, past events, future events, future problems and whatever else that you may find yourself thinking of. Living in the present means to stop thinking of the past and the future, be aware of what is happening RIGHT NOW. Fully involve yourself with the things you do, and the activities that you take on.

Don't let yourself run on auto-pilot, remember the movie Click? That is an example of an extreme way of portraying not fully "living" life. Don't just coast your way through life, take in the scenery and really enjoy it. Life could be so much worse for you than most of us realize. There are people all around the country and world who aren't even able to eat a decent meal. Always remain thankful because nothing lasts forever.

Keep in mind: Positive thoughts = positive emotions
